Approximate time: 2-3hrs one way
Location: Pohangina Valley
Driving time from Palmy: 35mins
Terrain: Undulating, lots of river crossings.
Track Surface: Good tramping track
Hazards:
- Multiple stream crossings - loads and loads of them
- Streams can be high and fast after wet weather
Suitable for: Older children, babies in carriers with confident parents.
Dogs: Not allowed.
Comments:
I'd recommend taking some walking poles for extra stability on river crossings. Especially if wearing a baby!
Note that this is one way. You either need to walk there and back, walk part way and back or arrange transport.
Note the track is closed for lambing from the 1st of August to the 31st of October
